Silent Films' Secret: Why They Look So Fast Today
When you watch classic silent films and notice the characters moving comically fast, it's often not because of exaggerated acting but due to a trick of projection: early films were shot and projected at significantly slower, variable frame rates, usually between 16 and 20 frames per second (fps).
